JAMES FUNK
Executive Director
About James Funk
Mr. Funk is the Executive Director for the upscale community of Gainey Ranch, located in Scottsdale, Arizona. In that role, Mr. Funk oversees and provides executive leadership for the management of operations, long term budget, capital, and reserve planning. Most recently Mr. Funk led Gainey Ranch to a capital improvement funding program that provided over $ 2,000,000 in improvements without an increase in homeowner monthly assessments.
With a focus to protect community associations, Mr. Funk is actively involved with the Arizona Legislature. While representing Gainey Ranch and working with the Scottsdale City Council, Mr. Funk defeated a bid to designate the popular Doubletree Ranch Road into a truck route.
He pursues quality in all aspects of his work, asking the same from all members of the organization. Having worked for 30 years in the resort industry as a Director of Resort Operations in Beaver Creek, Colorado, Mr. Funk brings a focus on quality in services and has a proven record of leadership at an executive level.
Born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and has traveled extensively as a part of a military family, Mr. Funk has an understanding of change and precision that can be achieved in all endeavors. He attended the universities of Southwest Texas State and Metropolitan State University in Denver, CO where he earned a Bachelor of Science with an emphasis on chemistry. Since that time, Mr. Funk has achieved certifications in Community Association Management and is a master pyro-technician, he has represented the United States and Japan in numerous fireworks displays competitions.
Mr. Funk has been with the Gainey Ranch Community Association since November 2008.
Michael Hunter
Controller
About Michael Hunter
Michael Hunter is the controller for Gainey Ranch Community Association. As the Controller, Mr. Hunter is responsible for supervision of financial matters for the GRCA and18 Satellite. Financial responsibilities include preparation of all monthly financial/budget reports, supervision of internal controls and accounting procedures, cash management, investment oversight, banking relations, coordination of annual audits, tax return preparation and administration of the corporate insurance program.
Mr. Hunter was born and raised in Wenatchee, WA. He attended Central Washington University, earning a Bachelors Degree in Accounting.
Mr. Hunter joined Gainey Ranch Community Association in August of 2024. Prior to joining Gainey Ranch, Mr. Hunter was the Controller for Red Lion Hotels, HouseValues.com, Co-X Holdings and Aria Management.
ANNE BLAZEK
Estate Club Director
About Anne Blazek
Anne Blazek was born and raised in Iowa and graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science with a Major in Exercise Science- Corporate Wellness and a Minor in Sports Medicine and Business Coaching. Anne holds a master’s degree in Life Coaching and medical care, with an emphasis on cancer. Anne is board certified in Sports Medicine, Cardiac Rehab, Aquatic Therapy, and has achieved her specialty in Exercise Cancer Prescription. Anne holds memberships with the National Athletic Trainers Association, Community Associations Institute, State of Arizona Athletic Trainers Association, American Red Cross, United States Water Fitness Association, American Heart Association Instructors Certification, American Heart Association CPR and First Aid, the National Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a National Life Coaching Certification, and holds the distinction of; ATC, USWFA-C, AT-L, LC-C, MLC, CESC.
Anne is an instructor for the American Red Cross and has certified over 2000 individuals in her career. Anne enjoys anything in the outdoors, especially the beach and ocean and is overly excited to open the new Daniel C. Gainey Estate Club with the dream team that will make an experience for every member as they walk through the doors. Anne will be starting her 25th year with Gainey.
MONIKA GOODWIN
Administrator
About Monika Goodwin
Monika Goodwin is the Association Administrator for Gainey Ranch; in that role, she oversees all satellite board meetings ensuring compliance with Arizona law. Monika is also the ombudsman for homeowners at Gainey Ranch, providing insight and advice on dealing with association issues.
The administrator is part juggler, part schmoozer, part mediator, part gopher, an educator as needed and, most importantly, a good listener. Monika answers questions about alarm systems; sets up annual meetings; edits the Gainey Gazette; coordinates board activities; orchestrates documentation required by lenders and title companies; and assists Arlene, as needed, helping to accommodate requests from homeowners and their guests.
Monika was born in Germany, raised in Michigan and toured the world with the US Army. After living in Italy, Taiwan, and Okinawa, she settled near Ft. Sill, Oklahoma and was quickly seduced by the world of real estate. While the unpredictability of buyers and sellers did not appeal to her, teaching subjects such as financing and fundamentals of contracts to new agents did. Eventually, she became a pre-licensing teacher. She also worked at an appraisal practice and became a licensed appraiser.
Ms. Goodwin has been with Gainey Ranch since March 1997.
MIKE ANDERSON
Gainey Ranch Director of Security
About Mike Anderson
Mike Anderson is the Director of Security for Gainey Ranch Community Association. In this role, he oversees all security personnel and all security-related procedures to ensure the security department is providing the community with the first-rate service.
Mike has been with GRCA since 2011. Before joining the staff at GRCA, he was in the private sector of security. Mike held the position of Vice President of Operations with one of the fastest-growing security companies in Arizona. Prior to his security profession, he worked in the aerospace industry as Program Administrator working directly with Boeing Aerospace.
Mike was raised here in Arizona. Away from the Ranch, he enjoys various activities including coaching high school football, basketball, and baseball. Mike also likes traveling to different vacation spots whenever possible to enjoy the cool climates and beaches (like San Diego) with his family.
Mike enjoys interacting with the residents here at Gainey. He looks forward to meeting each and every one in the near future. Mike has an open-door policy so, please stop by or call him at the security office.
SHERYL WISSMANN
Architectural Coordinator
About Sheryl Wissmann
Sheryl Wissmann is the Architectural Coordinator for Gainey Ranch Community Association. Sheryl joined the GRCA staff in October 2018. As the Architectural Coordinator, Sheryl’s role is to assist members with architectural and landscaping improvements they wish to make to their property. Sheryl loves working with the members helping them achieve their dream Gainey Ranch home.
Sheryl was born and raised in the Chicago area. She attended Arizona State University where she was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Management. Directly out of ASU, Sheryl worked for 13 years at Intel Corporation in Chandler, Arizona, as a Financial Analyst. In 2001, she and her family moved to Santa Fe to allow her husband to continue growth in his career. While raising her family, Sheryl worked as an Executive Real Estate Assistant for Sotheby’s International Realty and Santa Fe Properties. In 2017, Sheryl returned to Scottsdale and worked for Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty.
Outside of the office, Sheryl enjoys going to the movies, scrapbooking, spending time with family and friends, traveling and long walks with her furry companion, Luna.

HEATHER ANDERSON
Director of Maintenance
About Heather Anderson
Heather Anderson is the the Director of Maintenance overseeing 19 Associations for building and landscape management.
Heather moved to Phoenix Arizona in 2011. Outside of work, Heather enjoys spending time with her family going to different weekend destinations, such as Prescott, Sedona, and Jerome. She enjoys sporting events, watching movies and shopping.

GRCA Administrative Assistant
About Tami Dodge
In her role as Administrative Assistant for Gainey Ranch, Tami is the first point of contact in the administration office. She provides a variety of services, including new homeowner orientations; issuing and maintaining access devices; distributing open house information; keeping lease information up to date; assisting with the website; ordering supplies; answering the phones, and greeting homeowners and visitors with a warm smile.
Tami was born and raised in Nebraska. Prior to relocating to Arizona, she was a 911 Dispatcher form many years. Tami enjoys living in Scottsdale, and always takes advantage of going for walks, and shopping.
True to her native roots, she is a diehard Nebraska Cornhusker football fan, and never misses enjoying the football game with other fellow “Huskers of the Desert.”
Tony Perez

About Tony Perez
Tony Perez was born and raised in Northern California. Tony graduated from Edison High School in Stockton, California, then moved to Florida and Tennessee with his family. After years of living in the south, Tony made his way out to the west coast where he now calls Arizona his home.
Away from the ranch, Tony enjoys working at his home in Fountain Hills, gaming, fishing, landscaping, and listening to blues music. Tony has been with Gainey Ranch almost 7 years and looking forward to making the members’ experience enjoyable daily in the new facility.
Antonio Guzman
MASSAGE THERAPIST
About Antonio Guzman
Antonio’s goal with Color Me Calm, is to work with individuals who are passionate about their health and wellness. He hopes to not only eliminate muscle tension but educate clients about how to maintain mobility. As a massage therapist, he specializes in deep tissue, hot stone, lymphatic drainage, and cupping. If after a training session, you are experiencing muscle tension or fatigue, just remember that Antonio has the skills to be able get you feeling better to continue, in your wellness journey.
Antonio Guzman was born and raised in a small town in Wisconsin. He moved to Arizona after high school in 2001 to experience big city living in Phoenix. To satisfy his lifelong love of science, he pursued a career in healthcare as a patient care technician and worked for several years in Neurology at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Barrow’s Neurological Institute. After several years in healthcare, Antonio decided to be true to his heart’s desire and wanted to work for himself. Therefore, he started a small business, acting as a liaison to place seniors in assisted living facilities statewide for families that needed help and direction to navigate a difficult system, that he was very familiar with.
Antonio has always had a passion for helping others and loves figuring out ways to do so in his career choice. After graduating from The Scottsdale Cortiva Institute of Massage Therapy in 2018, Color Me Calm LLC was created. Antonio’s goal with Color Me Calm, is to work with individuals who are passionate about their health and wellness. He hopes to not only eliminate muscle tension but educate clients about how to maintain mobility.

About Jennelle Swain
Jennelle Swain is originally from Monterey, California and moved to the Valley of the Sun in 1992. Janelle has worked in Property Management for the past 10 years, managing multi-housing communities from 140 to 404 units, including clubhouses, tennis courts and fitness centers. Jennelle is looking forward to joining the Gainey Ranch Estate Club team and making a wonderful experience for every club member.

About Tara Wells
Tara Wells grew up in the beautiful Northeastern part of the U.S. in a family of seven. Dad was in the military and mom was a domestic engineer. After high school Tara explored a career in the service industry and was employed with the Marriott Fairmont, Phoenix Zoo, and Starbucks. These positions groomed me for my current position here at the Gainey Ranch. My sacrifices have paid dividends to have the opportunity to be part of the new groundbreaking family of Gainey Ranch.

Meet Corey DeLuca, a dedicated ISSA Certified personal trainer and Fitness instructor at our Estate Club fitness center. With a specialization in training women and men with their specific goals. Corey brings a wealth of expertise and passion to every session.
Also certified as a Nutrition Coach, for all fitness levels. Corey is particularly devoted to supporting women in perimenopause and menopause, advocating for their health and well-being. A firm believer in the transformative power of weight training, she is committed to helping you achieve your fitness goals while prioritizing your overall health. Corey enjoys looking forward to working with Gainey Ranch residents in the classroom and our new fitness programs
Rachele Rommes
Personal Trainer/Fitness Instructor
About Rachele
Rachele Rommes is a passionate fitness and movement expert with a lifetime of experience in various forms of physical training. Her journey began as a dancer, studying and performing from a young age, and eventually earning a BFA in Dance. Her professional dance career paved the way for her deeper exploration of body mechanics and movement, leading her to fall in love with teaching.
Since becoming a personal trainer in NYC in 2014, Rachele has dedicated herself to helping clients build strength and confidence through tailored fitness programs. With expertise in strength training, corrective exercise, and certifications and studies in StrongFirst Kettlebell, TRX, and Pilates, she takes a holistic approach to fitness. Rachele emphasizes the importance of foundational movement, teaching her clients proper form and technique to foster long-term success.
In 2016, she went back to her passion for group fitness, remembering the joy of bringing her knowledge to a broader audience at Gainey Ranch. Her ability to break down complex movements into accessible steps allows both beginners and experienced athletes to progress safely and effectively. Rachele’s dedication to teaching stems from her belief that fitness is not just about physical strength, but building confidence and resilience from the inside out.
Returning to her roots, Rachele is excited to continue empowering others through movement, fitness, and community, sharing her expertise and enthusiasm with those who seek to improve their well-being. Rachele is beyond excited and honored to be joining you once again.
